About Course

Course Overview

This course, inspired by the story Salim’s Pearl Adventure, introduces early childhood learners (ages 3-8) to the values of courage, patience, and cultural heritage through storytelling and play-based learning. Through interactive activities, children will explore the historical tradition of pearl diving in the UAE, develop creative and sensory skills, and connect with Emirati values.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the course, learners will:

  1. Identify and use basic Arabic terms related to the story, such as sea, pearl, boat, and diver.
  2. Enhance bilingual vocabulary through repetition and visual association.
  3. Develop cultural and linguistic awareness by connecting words to real-life Emirati traditions.
  4. Engage in activities that combine storytelling, Arabic words, and sensory learning.
  5. Retell the story’s key events, improving listening and narrative skills.
  6. Recognize the bravery and patience required for pearl diving.
  7. Identify marine life found in UAE waters, fostering curiosity about the natural world.
  8. Create a “treasure” craft, enhancing fine motor and creative skills.
Materials Required:
  • Visual aids of marine life, pearl diving tools, and the UAE coastline.
  • Sensory materials: sand, shells, water trays, and small plastic pearls or beads.
  • Craft supplies: paper, glue, markers, and foil for creating pearls.
